Starting
off in January in Weirsdale FLORIDA at the
Austin Park Carriage Museum Benefit, we then traveled to the
ALABAMA Horse Expo where Princess Vettina
Hagenslav made her debut (which also showed up unexpectedly
on UTube!). In March we traveled again to the MICHIGAN
Horse Expo and onto London ONTARIO for the
Can Am Horse Expo. It was a good time and spending an extra
week in Canada giving lessons at TJ Stables in Chatham
ONTARIO was really special because I met Tony and
watched him progress thru the week. In April we ended just
down the road at The Midwest Horse Fair in Madison
WISCONSIN. I did go to the Minnesota
Horse Expo, but as a spectator. I enjoyed watching Curt Pate
(Curt has always been a star in my life...he helped me in
my first demo and has always been there to encourage me. He
is a terrific trainer, but more importantly a positive human
being. It was my first time seeing Sharon Camarillo and a
very good dressage trainer that I am sorry I can't remember
his name. I went to all their clinics and enjoyed them and
their messages. Other clincs were hard to stay awake thru
and it was a reality check for me...I have got to stay interesting
in my own presentations and educationally informed.
In May I was a visitor at Mrs. Allyn McCracken's Bannockburn
Farm in Patricksburg Indiana. The McCracken's are breeders
of Belgian Warmbloods and have produced champion's such as
CONCORD. I was there as a guest of TJ
Clibborn who was starting all her youngstock. Highlights
were watching TJ start and work with the horses...he truly
is a gifted horseman also meeting the BWP/NAD approved and
licensed Belgian Warmblood Grand Prix jumping stallion, Simsalabim
Van Berkenbroeck and the opportunity to work my magic with
a head shy mare!
In June in Wisconsin Rapids, we held a horsemanship
clinic for the Saukville 4-H as well as performed both the
Robust Rider & The Little Paso Fino Stallion with the
Big Heart at the 10th
Annual Central Wisconsin Bullriding Challenge, a benefit
for the Children's Miracle
Network for North Central Wisconsin.
In August TJ and I were a part of the ILLINOIS
Horse Fest in Belevidere since 2000. In September we performed
and held a clinic at The Paso Fino Nationals in Perry
GEORGIA. At the ARKANSAS Horse Fest,
we team worked with Larry Whitesell and Terry Tryon. After
a brief layover in INDIANA we went north
to the UP Equifest in Escanaba MICHIGAN.
It was Widget and my second visit and TJ's first. We both
did our clincs, my acts and TJ stepped in and MC'd their Colt
Starting Challenge. There we met Rick Cornwell, a part of
the challenge. In November TJ ended our year where I began
in Ocala FLORIDA at the Florida Capitol Horse
Expo! We had met the George Calhoun at Perry Georgia he liked
what he saw and when Curt Pate had a family emergency and
could not attend, they asked TJ to fill in. TJ was a hit and
we are so thankful to PFHA for having us in Georgia and then
to the Calhoun’s for giving us this opportunity! Mark
your 2008 calendars, we will be part of the Ocala
event November 21, 22 and 23!
